Spare Parts Management Training Objectives

With the Spare Parts Management training, you will be able to:

  • Know how to create and classify a spare part
  • Understand how to calculate and the meaning of ROP’s, Safety Stocks and EOQ’s
  • Understand all processes related to spare parts management
  • Understand and know how to use the right metrics and reports to manage Spare Parts and Inventory

Classifying parts business criticality, establishing the right ROP, and safety stocks and implementing the business processes related to spares will help you to have the right parts, at the right time, with the lowest possible cost at the minimum inventory value.

What is Spare Parts Management?

Spare Parts Management includes all functions from the supplier through to the point of use. – identification and coding, criticality classification, procurement, quality inspection, stocking policies, links to work planning (kitting, staging), supplier management and internal performance.

Spare parts management is the main component of a complete strategic reliability management process that companies use to ensure that right spare part and resources are at the right place (where the broken part is) at the right time.

Spare parts, are extra parts that are available and in proximity to a functional item, such as an automobile, boat, engine, for which they might be used for repair. Spare Parts Management mission is to provide “the right parts, in the right quantity, to the right place, at the right time, with the right level of quality, and at the least total cost to the organization”.

Effective management of maintenance spare parts is a critical contributor to equipment operating performance and to the cost of the maintenance investment.

Spare Parts Management training course

The participants will attend a theoretical training session and a workshop that will incorporate the Spare Parts Management best practices on a real project.

The Spare Parts Management workshop will be performed with a simulation that will ensure the implementation of the concepts learned during the theoretical training and reinforces the comprehension of the Spare Parts Management basics, methods and tools to be used.
